The bottom of the bowl

I'll be travelling all day today, which is a shame, as I am forced to miss out on this incredible slate of college football:

1pm: Papa John's .com Bowl

4pm: New Mexico Bowl

8pm: Las Vegas Bowl

The Papa John's .com Bowl is a great matchup between Southern Miss and Cincinnati, always a stunner. But I really miss the granddaddy of all ill advised postseason fixture sponsorship agreements, the GalleryFurniture.com Bowl. That was when you really knew the .com bubble and the insane bowl schedule had both expanded beyond all reason. Amazingly, although the game is lost and unlamented, the company itself is still in business.
