If you can't stand the heat

Today's NY Times, in its coverage of the latest Knicks meltdown, shows a photo of a fan being grabbed by security prior to his ejection from the Garden. To my eye, all the fan is doing is holding up a paper food tray on which he has written "Fire Isiah."

I could understand if the security guard simply confiscated the tray. But let's face it, the entire crowd has been chanting "Fire Isiah" for several seasons now. It's not like the poor guy was inciting a riot.

Isiah Thomas, on the other hand, was not content with taking over and destroying the CBA. Now he's taken over and destroyed the New York Knicks, too. What puzzles me is that he seems to have finished this job and should be moving on to the next train wreck. What could possibly be left after the disastrous contracts, trades, draft choices, assorted off-court hires, coaching stint, and sexual harassment lawsuit? Burning down Madison Square Garden?

If Garden security should be ejecting anyone, it's not a fan with a paper sign.
