Air ball

St. Louis, under new coach Rick Majerus, set a shot clock era record by scoring a less than whopping 20 points against George Washington last night. The Billikens shot 14.6% and missed 23 consecutive shots at one stage.

But they are 9-6, so it's not all bad.

Pity, however, the NJIT Highlanders, owners of a not so stellar 0-17 mark. Things are looking up, though. From a season opening 28-70 loss to Manhattan, the team has improved enough to get within 11 points of Penn in its last game. Next up, Columbia visits NJIT tomorrow at 2pm. In the rich Columbia tradition, I fully expect the NJIT players to be celebrating their first win deep into Sunday morning.
