Missouri, the current champion of college football*, will open its campaign on Saturday night in St. Louis against Illinois - hardly the sort of opening week powder puff you expect to face a team ranked #6 in the pre-season poll. Illinois gets its first shot at the title since a 17-10 loss to then-champ Ohio State in 2006.
Never mind the so-called national title implications of any other game. This one is for all the silver marbles.
