With 17 seconds remaining, Pittsburgh kicker Jeff Reed split the uprights from 24 yards out to make the score 3-0. This was the longest an NFL game had gone scoreless since the Lions and Giants failed to score at all in 1943. We have just seen the mud equivalent of the famed Snowplow Game of 1982.

Ricky Williams left with a shoulder injury and a fumble on the same play.

The Dolphins, now 0-11, have lost six games by three points or less. But this one was a heartbreaker to last for generations.

Tomorrow, when I can get to the spreadsheet with all the tricky mathematics, I'll update Miami's chances of going 0-16. Remember, they still get to play the Jets.
