Cubs end a long drought

Carlos Zambrano no-hit the Astros today - the first no-hitter for the Cubs since 1972. A sign of things to come?

Nah.

But those crazy folks on the north side of Chicago can always dream.

Personally, I was pulling for a Cubs-Red Sox World Series in 2003. That would have been incredible. What we got instead, while magical for the five or six people in Miami who love baseball, was somewhat anticlimactic. And now that the Red Sox are the new Evil Empire, who could the Cubs play that could possibly provide the same level of "now or never again until the world ends" desperation?

The Mariners? The Rangers? It's just not the same.
