We've seen some fabulous Silver Ball matches in the past two seasons, but this one might have topped them all. Texas Tech leapt out to a big lead, then Texas clambered back into the game slowly but inexorably, taking the lead with 1:25 left, but Tech had just enough left to produce a touchdown with just one second on the clock, and win 39-33 to upset the #1 Longhorns.
And, more importantly, the Red Raiders took the Silver Ball. They will defend it next week against recent holder Oklahoma State, again in Lubbock.
