The rules remain the same

I have seen various columnists suggesting that, whether the call was good or not, it's wrong to call foot faults at such an important stage of the match.

That is just so much crap. The rules of the game don't change just because the match is nearly over. Do the rules of poker change when the champ goes all-in? Well, he lost the hand, but hey, it was a gutsy bet. So let's call his two pair a full house. A foot fault is a foot fault, on the first point or the last. And whenever you ask a human to adjudicate a sports event, you will also have to live with human error. Leave the poor line judge alone.

And don't threaten to shove the ball down her throat.
